Humacyte, Inc., a Durham, North Carolina-based commercial-stage biotechnology company developing universally implantable, bioengineered human tissues, announced on September 28, 2026, the appointment of Scott Coward and Paul Kuznik to its Board of Directors. The appointments come as Humacyte continues the commercial launch of Symvess and prepares for a planned launch of its acellular tissue engineered vessel (ATEV) in the dialysis access indication.

About Scott Coward
Coward brings extensive experience in corporate governance, legal affairs and executive leadership within the life sciences industry. He served as Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer, Chief Administrative Officer and Secretary of Exact Sciences Corporation from 2015 to 2022, where he led the integration of Genomic Health following its acquisition. He subsequently served on Exact Sciences’ Board of Directors from December 2022 to March 2026.
Since July 2026, Coward has been an attorney at K&L Gates, returning to the firm where he previously served as a partner from 2008 to 2014, including as managing partner of its Raleigh office. Throughout his career, he has partnered with executive teams and boards through major corporate transitions and periods of growth. Coward earned his J.D. from Columbia Law School and his B.S. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
About Paul Kuznik
Kuznik is a medical technology executive with more than three decades of experience spanning vascular healthcare, cardiovascular devices and medical diagnostics. From 2015 to 2018, he served as Chief Executive Officer and a board member of Bolton Medical, a developer of endovascular technologies for complex aortic disease that was acquired by Terumo Corporation.
Following the acquisition, Kuznik helped integrate Bolton Medical and Vascutek to establish Terumo Aortic. He subsequently served as President of Terumo Aortic United States from 2019 to 2020 and President of Terumo Aortic North America from 2020 to 2023. His expertise encompasses commercialization, manufacturing, clinical affairs, regulatory oversight, quality systems, strategic planning and physician engagement. Kuznik graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point and served as an officer in the United States Army.
