Glanua, an Irish provider of water, wastewater, and bioresource solutions, announced on September 21, 2026 the opening of its first U.S. office in Radnor, Pennsylvania, just outside Philadelphia, with plans to build a team of more than 200 employees over time. Group Managing Director Karl Zimmerer called it a milestone tied directly to the region’s pharmaceutical manufacturing base: “The opening of our first US office is a major milestone for Glanua and reflects the strength of the business we have built in Ireland and internationally,” adding that “the scale of investment in pharmaceutical facilities in the US is creating strong demand for specialist water and wastewater engineering expertise.”
Chasing Demand From Pharma’s Water Needs
Glanua’s U.S. operation will initially focus on specialist water and wastewater treatment design and engineering for life sciences, pharmaceutical, and food and beverage manufacturing clients, drawing on capabilities that span modular and advanced treatment systems, water reuse, biological treatment, chemical dosing, sludge treatment, anaerobic digestion, and digital delivery. Leading that U.S. push is Mark McKeever, appointed US Operations Director; McKeever is a chemical engineer with four years of experience in global account management, business development, and contract support with a particular focus on the life sciences market, and he became Glanua’s 750th employee upon joining in early September 2026.
Part of a Fast-Growing International Footprint
The Radnor office adds to a run of rapid growth for Glanua, which expanded from 545 employees at the end of 2025 to more than 750 today and now operates 10 offices across Ireland, the UK, Portugal, and the U.S., following recent UK acquisitions and the establishment of an engineering hub in Lisbon. Zimmerer pointed to the headcount milestone itself as a signal: reaching 750 employees demonstrates “the pace at which the Group is growing and the opportunities we are creating for engineers.” Jenny Melia, CEO of Enterprise Ireland, which supported the expansion, framed the U.S. entry as part of a broader trajectory: “Glanua’s expansion into the US is a strong example of an ambitious Irish company turning deep sector expertise into international scale,” and said the company is “well positioned to capture significant opportunities across lifesciences and advanced manufacturing.”
