MALVERN, Pa. — October 29, 2026 — Uniquity Bio, a clinical-stage drug development company focused on immunology and inflammation and backed by Blackstone Life Sciences, today announced that Nikhil Mehta, Ph.D., will serve as an advisor to its board of directors. With more than 25 years of experience in regulatory affairs, drug development and manufacturing, Dr. Mehta’s leadership has contributed to the global approval of multiple therapeutic products across a range of indications.
“Nik has been deeply involved in the late-stage development of several therapeutics, and he is respected throughout the industry for his integrated perspective on technical and regulatory strategy,” said Uniquity CEO Will Kane. “The successful approvals of the many programs he’s worked on are a testament to his commitment to advancing new medicines with both safety and efficiency. I’m confident that Nik’s strategic counsel will be a valuable resource to our board and leadership team as we plan Uniquity’s growth from here.”
Dr. Mehta joins in an advisory role at a strategic moment for Uniquity as the company readies for the potential late-stage development of its lead asset, solrikitug. Solrikitug is a highly potent monoclonal antibody targeting thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP), with topline data readouts expected by the end of the year from its Phase II trials in eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE), asthma, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Dr. Mehta most recently served as Chief Technical and Regulatory Officer at Anthos Therapeutics, now owned by Novartis, and has held senior positions at companies including Merck, Shire, Baxalta, Imclone, and Bristol-Myers Squibb. His work has contributed to the approval of products including Adynovate®, Vonvendi® and Obizur® (Hemophilia); Keytruda® (Oncology); Elaprase®, Vpriv®, Firazyr® (Orphan) and Erbitux® (Oncology). Dr. Mehta’s background spans both regulatory strategy and biologics manufacturing, including manufacturing scale-ups to support late-stage clinical trials and commercialization, the development of autoinjector delivery systems and successful reduction of manufacturing costs for commercialization. He holds a B.Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, an M.S. from Colorado State University, and a Ph.D. in chemical and biochemical engineering from Rutgers University.
“Uniquity Bio is at an exciting stage as it concludes Phase II trials and considers its options for late-stage development,” said Dr. Mehta. “The company’s decisions now will influence its regulatory strategy for years to come, and I’m honored to offer my experience and perspective to help inform these conversations.”
In addition to finalizing Phase II trials for solrikitug and preparing for potential late-stage development, Uniquity is in the process of identifying bispecific and/or combination product candidates for clinical testing. By combining solrikitug with other key inflammatory targets, the company could potentially enhance efficacy and broaden the applicable patient population in specific indications. Solrikitug was in-licensed from Merck & Co., Inc. (known as MSD outside of the U.S. and Canada
